Welcome to My Comenius

The purpose of the project, and its title, is 'To explore creative responses to the differences, similarities and common challenges that link Europeans together in a family of nations'.

Most faculties and departments, and as large a number of pupils and students as possible will be involved in the project, which was put together during a preparatory visit at Lytchett in January, attended by representatives of all four schools. It is financed by the European Community's Lifelong Learning Programme.

John Amos Comenius was a Czech teacher, scientist and writer. He was also a Bishop, belonging to the Protestant church that was getting persecuted across Europe at the time he lived. This made him a religious refugee.

His dream was that every one should have access to education, but at the time only rich males would have had any schooling.
